Kate (Kathryn) Minium is a Senior in American University’s School of Public Affairs. She is studying Justice and Law: Counterterrorism and Homeland Security Studies and Minoring in Computer Science to create a firm foundation for a career in the legal field. Placing herself on an accelerated track to allow her to graduate a year early from college has allowed her to thrive.
Between beginning college in 2017 and today, she has interned for Governor Terrence R. McAuliffe from her home state of Virginia, Congressman Robert Latta from Ohio, Senator John Barrasso from Wyoming, and the Senate Judiciary Committee for the Majority. Beginning in May of 2019, she began working as a full-time Legal Assistant for McManus & Felsen LLP during her senior year of college.
She has furthered her on-campus involvement by leading Young Americans for Freedom at American University, which has helped prepare her for work in the professional world in fields of her interest.
Upon graduation in May of 2020, Kate plans to attend law school in the DC-Metro area part-time while simultaneously continuing her career in the political or legal realm.
