Hello and welcome to my research page! My name is Luis Tano, as a member of the 2017 Olson Scholars Cohort, I will be developing research into the evolution of the Cuban Economy and the growth of the private sector. This site will be the home of the progress I make as an introductory research course student and in my own individual research. Feel free to explore and get to know me and my research!

 About Me

I am currently a second year International Studies student at the American University School of International Service. I was born in Havana, Cuba and moved to the United States when I was 10 years old. I have been able to periodically travel to Cuba and explore the growth of private business which is where the interest of my research topic comes from. Outside of class, I am involved around campus as the Advocacy Director for the Latinx and American Student Organization, you can also find me playing basketball or soccer during my free time.
