Summary
OpenStax College is a publishing unit at Rice University, backed by multiple foundations and donors. They’re “committed to improving student access to quality learning materials. Our free textbooks are developed and peer-reviewed by educators to ensure they are readable, accurate, and meet the scope and sequence requirements of your course”. They aim to have course books available for the 12 largest enrollment courses in the U.S. by 2015. Their books have been adopted by several U.S. institutions.
