My name is Rachel Rubin, and I’m currently a sophomore at American University’s School of International Service, majoring in International Studies with minors in Economics and Spanish. I am also an intern with the U.S. Department of Justice, assisting the Office of International Affairs Criminal Division on the Central and South America team. When I’m not in class or Metro Center, I compete on the Model United Nations team, playing dress-up in business attire and pretending to solve international crises. I am excited to dedicate the coming year to researching forms of soft power as diplomatic tools of communication and strength, exploring the ways in which our art and architecture reflect our position on the world stage.
