About Me

Stephanie Steinbacher is a student at American University in the class of 2024. She is planning to pursue a Bachelors in Legal Studies within the School of Public Affairs. She is also pursing two certificates from the School of Public Affairs including: Advanced Leadership and Community-Based Research. Within the leadership program, Stephanie is working on a project about Dementia and caregivers.

Stephanie graduated from Jersey Shore Area Senior High School located in North Central Pennsylvania in June of 2020. She was a member of four different honors programs including National Honors Society, History Honors Society, English Honors Society, and Spanish Honors Society. Stephanie has always had a passion for leadership and community service. She held different leadership positions including Vice President of National Honors Society and President of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Within her time in FBLA she was co-chairperson on the community service project for three years which allowed her to start the weSHOREcare project which helps people within her community who are experiencing food insecurities and/or homelessness. This project allowed her to learn more about local issues and then combine her leadership and organizational skills with her passion for helping her people within her community. Stephanie is very excited to continue her education at American University. She hopes first to gain a better understanding of issues that individuals and communities face and then to determine a focus to direct her passion.
