Co-President, Key Club, Wheaton Warrenville South High School              August 2020-May 2020

    • Elected Co-President of over 400 person service club where I communicated with organizations in need of volunteers and helped present those opportunities to students. Developed professional email and communication skills. 
    • Implemented program called “Create Your Own Event” to help empower students to serve the community in ways they were passionate about and to identify problems and design events/projects to solve them. Helped our club become more than just a service for hours club but also one that students could use to effect meaningful change they cared about. 
    • Over the course of four years as a member, served over 84 hours independent of work as Co-President. 

Book Drive Organizer, African Library Project, Warrenville, IL                          April 2018-August 2018

    • Started and led project to collect over 1,100 books and $750 to build a library in Sierra Leone, Africa, through the non-profit African Library Project. Over 120 hour project. 
    • Spread the word through social media, communicating with peers, and receiving permission from my school principal, activity director, and the faculty sponsors of National Honor Society and Key Club to place collection spots around the school and establish a community service hours incentive for donations. 

Mentor and competitor, Speech Team, Wheaton Warrenville South High School                             August 2016-May 2020

    • Fostered very strong public speaking and communication skills as a four year competitor on one of the most competitive teams in the state of Illinois. Selected to compete in the State Series Competitions and won or placed very well at many regular season tournaments. 
    • Mentored new speech team members and went above and beyond to learn an event I had not competed in and teach it to others. Helped select, cut, formulate, and polish pieces for mentees. 

Co-Editor in Chief, The Pride Newspaper, Wheaton Warrenville South High School                           August 2020-May 2020

    • Wrote and edited articles for publication online and in print and helped format and design layout of publication using Adobe InDesign. Four year member of paper starting in August 2016, helped transition the publication online starting in late 2019.

    • Selected to study and implement advanced leadership skills by researching and formulating a project to address an issue in the community. 

French Tutor, Independent French Tutor, Wheaton, IL                            November 2019-March 2020

    • Selected by my teacher to tutor a beginner-intermediate level french student and saw noticeable improvement in her french proficiency and grades. 

Tutor, Kumon Learning Center, Wheaton, IL                                                       May 2019-October 2019

    • Graded papers and progressed to tutoring young students in basic reading and math. Developed patience with both repetitive tasks and teaching children, and fostered creative communication skills to explain concepts in different ways.
