About Me

Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, I am currently pursuing my interests in both national and global affairs as a freshman at American University in Washington, D.C. In addition to being a Communications, Law, Economics, and Government (CLEG) major, I am fulfilling certificate degrees in Advanced Leadership Studies and Community Based Research Scholars.

As a first generation American and Muslim woman of color, I have always aspired to establish a career in politics because I feel like my voice will stand to represent well-needed change in a starkly homogenous population dominating the political-sphere. Thus, my pre-college experiences have been geared towards leadership development in tandem with political activities such as Model United Nations and Debate and social justice experiences like the march for Freddie Gray and the Women’s March. At American University, I hope to continue expanding my purview of skills in these areas of study through opportunities like the SPA Leadership Program, the Pre-Law Society, and social activism groups on campus like the NAACP.

While I have already grown enamored with the city, I am looking forward to delve into all the city has to offer for my wide spectrum of interests.
