Time’s Arrow: Grandfather Clocks and the COVID-19 Time Warp
Within my first year writing class, we were tasked with researching our own object lessons. Objects lessons are ways in which individuals utilize everyday objects in order to discuss a larger conversation. For this assignment, we were to locate an everyday object, research it, and connect it to a larger meaning.
While writing this paper, I had placed a great emphasis on breaking the rigid essay structures taught in high school and experimented with the first person. Furthermore, I was very intrigued to understand the psychological and biological aspects of the human brain that allow us to comprehend time. Connecting this to an everyday object of a clock proved to be a difficult task, but I found the crafting of the essay to be a great learning experience.
