Hello, My name is Christopher Orjuela. I grew in the suburbs of New York, in a small town called Chappaqua. I am a graduate of American University, where I majored in Political Science and minored in Economics. I currently work at Mowry and Grimson, PLLC, a law firm specializing in international trade law. In the future, I am hoping to attend law school and become a lawyer in the future. I was a member of the class of 2021 School of Public Affairs Leadership Program.

My job experience includes being a legal assistant at Mowry & Grimson, where I thrive through the development of my interdependence, my organization, communication, and legal skills, and my ability to be responsible. Additionally, being a legislative intern with Senator Charles Schumer’s office, I learned how to be reliable, accountable, communicative, and comprehensible. With these skills learned and continuously developing, I hope to be able to become an effective and strong lawyer, as well as become a well-rounded individual. My personality and characteristics allow me to stay cool and collected in times of crisis, as I am able to deal with difficult problems efficiently and effectively, without becoming flustered and overwhelmed. While I am easy going, in times where I need to be, I am very hardworking, focused, and can effectively take over and become a leader. Overall, I know how to act in each situation, both in a casual and professional setting. The reason I want to become a lawyer in the future is because I love to argue and fight for what I believe in. I have always been like this, and people who know me understand that I fight for what I believe in. I am also able to do in depth research on any topic I am studying. I am hoping these skills will allow me to succeed, and one day become a lawyer either in the public and private sector.
