Project Reflections

Self-Growth Reflection

Over the course of this academic year, I have learned a variety of concepts about leadership that have contributed to my meaningful social action project. Among the leadership theory concepts, I have noticed that transformational leadership, authentic leadership, and adaptive leadership were exhibited in my social action project. Such leadership styles have helped me work effectively and successfully within my community and self. Such leadership styles have provided me the knowledge, skills, and tools to think critically and act accordingly to create and executive a successful social action project.

For my project, I sought to engage with the AU Community and nonprofit organization Community Bridges to create a meaningful connection and difference to support professional development and early learning exposure in youth girls. By utilizing different leadership styles, in addition to heavily considering and utilizing the experience and knowledge of the nonprofit organization, I was able to contribute to making a difference for youth girls to reach their unique versions of success and achievement.
