Mentor Post #2

We had a collective advising workshop on Feb. 2, where we got to speak to Professors Mislan, Esser, Boesnecker, Erlap, Zhang, and Levan. I presented my research question and plan, and received some feedback from the professors. They primarily questioned my case selection- I was intending to do the Northern Ireland Good Friday Agreement and the Dayton Accords, because the Good Friday Agreement has (relatively) decent inclusion of women, while the Dayton Accords didn’t have any inclusion of women in the formal negotiations. The professors thought that my project would be stronger if I just focused on the Northern Ireland case, and did a single process-trace, which I agree with. My next step is to look more closely into the Northern Ireland peace process specifically.
