Pregnancy, A Death Sentence in the United States?

There are many layers of diversity and equity in healthcare, but I am going to focus on only one.  In 2019 I became pregnant and had a full-term pregnancy at 37 weeks and 2 days, to a healthy baby boy.  Throughout my pregnancy, I did a lot of reading and internet searches to gain as much knowledge as I possibly could to not only stay healthy during pregnancy but learn how to advocate for myself and what to expect from my healthcare providers.  This experience brought a rude awakening to the inequities that exist in the US healthcare system with pregnancy care.

Most Memorable Campaign of the Early 2000’s

“VERB, it’s what you do”. Feeling nostalgic? If you were watching television as a child in the early 2000s, you may recognize this phrase. VERB was a media campaign to promote physical activity to combat childhood obesity. The campaign ran from 2002 to 2006 and was targeted towards the 9 to 13-year-old age group. With the short amount of airtime, was this campaign truly successful?
