Welcome to my site! My name is Tristan Shogren and I am currently a Sophomore at American University studying International Studies and Economics. For my studies, I am interested in the emerging fields of cybersecurity and cyberterrorism in relation to the theory of national sovereignty. If I were to pick a niche interest which I could read about for days, it would be the development and implementation of protections against infectious diseases in underdeveloped nations.

Apart from my studies, I am an avid runner and fisherman, with an attempt being made to make it to Rock Creek Park at least once a day. One can also find me either on the quad or in the Davenport Coffee Lounge with whatever book I am reading at the time.

I am excited to be able to spend the 2019-2020 academic year in the Olson Scholars program with like-minded student and professors. All-in-all, I am expecting a good year with fun research projects and fun people.
