Final Process-Evaluation Plan

The program Healthy Adults Equals Healthy Families will consist of identifying how consistent the implementation of the intervention was with the process evaluation plan (fidelity). It also considers the dose delivered which oversees the total number of sessions delivered in the 6 months of intervention as well as the extent in which the materials like the notebook were used in the sessions. It was important for participants to feel a sense of bond or trust with the facilitators therefore for dose received, the decision was to see if at least 90% of the participants rated the facilitators as “good” or better. For this program it was also important to reach and have participants attend at least 80% of all sessions. It was also important to check what recruitment procedures were used to attract individuals to the participation of the program and for context, it was important to consider barriers that affected the delivery of the program.

The process-evaluation method for reach was to conduct open-ended questions that were aimed at program planners and facilitators to learn what methods were used for recruitment to the program. For reach, attendance will be used to be able to determine if participants attended at least 80% of the sessions. Program planners will be needed to observe the sessions at least one time per month to be able to see the consistency with the implementation and the process evaluation plan. To find out any barriers or challenges that were faced when implementing the program, recruiters and facilitators will be interviewed to find out their observations. A data source will be used to check the records for the number of sessions delivered per month as well as observing sessions to see how materials are being used. Surveys will be given to participants as data collection tools to rate the program and facilitators.
