Program Objectives

By the end our 12-week program, you’ll have the knowledge to confidently create nourishing meals so you can feel your best, save time in the kitchen and care for your long-term wellbeing without looking towards complicated diets for answers. You’ll have the opportunity to meet other women like yourself, and build supportive relationships along the way.

After completing the program you can expect to:

Complete nine classroom sessions, and three cooking activities, among a small group of women.

Become confident in your ability to manage your weight by prioritizing your health in your dietary choices and using behavior change skills.

Increase your consumption of unprocessed, nutrient-dense foods.

Become knowledgeable in healthy cooking methods and confidently meal plan with fresh produce.

Gain social support from other women in the program.

Maintain or reduce your body weight, reducing your risk for obesity in the future.

Our Story

Meet Maria, Nutrition Educator

There truly is power in numbers. I spent years raising my son alone, with my diet and my health, being one of the many struggles I faced. I knew what my body needed, as is often the case for many of us. What I couldn’t figure out was why good habits were so hard to come by, and I was often so unforgiving with myself. I believe many women can relate. It was only when I stepped far outside my level of comfort to find support among others that my life, my health, and everything about my world changed for the better. I created Fresh Choice to bring this opportunity to other women because together with each other’s support we can accomplish more.

who is the program designed for?

Fresh Choices is for women between the ages of 30 and 50 concerned with maintaining their weight as they age, as well as those who need to reduce their weight.

How long is the program?

Participation in the program is a 12-week commitment. Sessions are held once a week typically lasting 60 minutes. Cooking activities last 2-2.5 hours.

when will i see results?

This will depend on an individual’s goals and other lifestyle factors. One person in our program might have a weight loss goal and another may have an entirely different health goal. We teach you how to set your own health goals while providing you with the knowledge and skills to accomplish them.

Where are the classes located?

At this time the classes are currently held in San Diego, California. We hope to expand the program soon!

how many women are in each class?

Six women are enrolled in each class. You will begin and end the program with the same group.

 

what makes this program different?

We have designed an evidence-based method to deliver nutrition education content to women. Our process evaluation will ensure that our program is delivered to the highest standard and provides a quality experience that meets your expectations.
