Evaluating Fresh Choices

We plan to deliver a program constructed from evidence-based principles that improve health outcomes. At the end of the day, learning does not always equal change. To ensure we are delivering a quality program guided by our goals and objectives we asked questions when creating Fresh Choices that we will use to evaluate the program.

Since we are asking you to invest in your health, we want to be transparent about the steps we are taking to assess and refine our program so that we can continue to grow and make improvements that benefit women everywhere.

How is Fresh Choices connecting with women between the ages of 30 and 50?

Our team has created a marking and communications plan to inform you about our program. A streamlined outreach and enrollment process should help you to understand what the program is all about and help you get signed up with ease. To ensure that women are learning about us, program staff monitor their efforts to evaluate the teams successes and challenges.

To what extent were evidence-based, multiple intervention strategies implemented into the nutrition education program?

Ensuring Fresh Choices is delivered with high-quality material created from a best practices approach, expert personnel from outside the program will review the curriculum and lesson delivery reports curated from the instructors.

Were there barriers to implementing Fresh Choices?

Fresh Choices staff and instructors will be interviewed individually so that we understand what, if any, challenges and difficulties our team face during outreach, enrollment, training, procuring event space, and creating and delivering the curriculum. Every team member’s role is likely to bring a unique perspective to evaluating and refining Fresh Choices.

After women sign up, are they attending all the scheduled sessions?

Attendance is necessary to be successful in the program, and we want to know if there are any changes we can make to improve access to our lessons so that you never miss a class. Our instructors will check participants in as they arrive and note any early departures so that we can learn from our attendance rates.

Were all 12 nutrition education lessons delivered to participants as planned?

Creating quality nutrition education material will only serve its purpose if it reaches you as planned. Ensuring effective delivery of all curriculum, our program instructors document their weekly lessons and meet with staff to discuss implementation strategies.

Did women improve their health behaviors, develop new skills, and gain social support as a result of Fresh Choices?

We like to get to know our program participants during their enrollment interviews. We’ll ask some questions in the beginning that we’ll compare to a similar assessment, in the end, to understand your overall change in knowledge, skills, and behaviors as a result of spending 12-weeks with us. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us to evaluate our program.
