Mentorship Log #6

On February 27th, before heading to class, I found myself in Professor Esser’s office for about 20 minutes so that we could talk more about how the research was going. I was running into a bit of trouble with how the statistical portion of my project was going, as none of the regression figures were really sticking out and I couldn’t find the cases that I really wanted to compare. While Professor Esser didn’t necessarily guide that portion of our meeting, he did suggest that I meet with one of his graduate teaching assistants who is well versed in statistical analysis. I found this subsequent meeting to be very helpful. I was still concerned after both of these meetings that I would not be able to pull together my quantitative analysis, but I did find variables that did come together into a useable regression equation, and with that, I was extremely happy that I could confidently continue on with my research.
