Internship Experience

During my first semester of senior year, I have the privilege of interning at the Coalition for Juvenile Justice (CJJ). Given the unusual and hard times we are all going through, I am very thankful to have received an internship offer from CJJ and expand my awareness and knowledge about the criminal justice system in the U.S.

At CJJ, I work as a communications intern. Since I began, I have taken on a variety of tasks including designing and writing up social media posts, researching and crafting blog posts for CJJ’s website, participating in stakeholder meetings with State Advisory Groups who are members of the CJJ, and finally creating and facilitating spreadsheets for the annual conference CJJ will be holding virtually this year. To learn more about my experience please read my CJJ mid-semester report!

After completing my internship at the Coalition for Juvenile Justice in December, I had the opportunity to write a report and reflect on the time I had there. The lessons learned not only in that policy area but also about leadership, the impact of words, advocacy and who I am as a young professional will stay with me forever. I invite you to read my Final Internship Report and learn about the lessons I took away with me and what I was able to accomplish there.
