Matt Meekins

Matthew Meekins is the Senior Director for Strategic Partnerships at the School of International Service. He has been at SIS since 2011, when he joined the School as Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions, working with prospective and incoming students as they navigated the graduate school application process. Since 2012, he has overseen the development of SIS’ online degree programs initiative, which broadens the reach of SIS to students all around the globe, including a large percentage of active-duty and veteran members of the armed services. He also manages the Office of International Programs and Partnerships, which provides support to graduate students seeking to go abroad during their studies at SIS and offers a wide array of semester and short-term opportunities overseas.

Matt was an art and marketing major in undergrad, and completed his Master’s in Education Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park, focusing on how the proliferation of college rankings impacted institutional decision making and student choice. He originally wanted to be a museum and themed entertainment architect, before finding a passion for higher education and helping students in the college search process. Before higher education, he spent a decade as a summer camp counselor and director, and was the director of a haunted forest for two Octobers.
