My project is a book club style discussion guide to supplement a listening and discussion of the podcast S-Town hosted by Brian Reed. S-Town is a podcast about a man, John B. Mclemore, who lives in an “S-Town” in the south United States and takes a look into the life and legacy of John B. and those surrounding him. For the project, I wanted to implement the questions I left the podcast having, especially those about journalistic ethics and postmortem storytelling. I also decided to stylize my project based on the cover art for the podcast, so I chose a color scheme similar to that of the cover and used art of clocks, gears and roses like the cover art did. To highlight the questions, I chose to make a discussion guide. This way, the questions would be the backbone of the project, and would make others think about concepts and questions I had after I finished listening to S-Town.
