General Databases
This site provides a list of all the databases to which AU subscribes. It is a great resource for a literature review.
Established in 1962, Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) is the world’s largest archive of digital social science data. The CTRL lab has a subscription to ICPSR.
This portal enables users to extract data from across different databases for the first time. This is the first phase of OECD’s Statistics Dissemination Project.
Transparency International is the global civil society organization leading the fight against corruption. The annual Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), first released in 1995, is the best known of TI’s tools. The CPI ranks 180 countries by their perceived levels of corruption, as determined by expert assessments and opinion surveys.
The United Nations Common Database (UNCDB) consists of of the UNdata search engine. This search engine can be used to find specific datasets on a variety of topics, including but not limited to health, weapons, gender, and development.

This website provides global and internationally comparable statistics on education, science, culture and communication.

National Endowment for Democracy: Conflict Resolution
Acts as a clearinghouse for information on organizations with the mission of fostering positive, democratic change around the world.
The Human Rights Organizations DB
The Human Rights Organizations database is a comprehensive listing of institutions working in the field of human rights. The database currently holds over 10,000 records and can be searched by name, type, issues addressed, countries the organization works in and other such criteria.
