Possible research consultation topics that we are happy to discuss include:
General Research Design & Grant Writing

- Determining appropriate approaches to data collection and analysis

Quantitative Research Methods
- Use of statistical analysis software including R, Python, Stata, SPSS, Excel, SAS, Jamovi, JASP, Julia
- Assistance with getting started/using AU’s high-performance computer
- Quantitative analyses such as: univariate statistics, multivariate statistics, structural equation modeling, multilevel modeling, item response theory, and more.
- Data cleaning (restructuring, recoding, transforming, etc.)
- Data de-identification techniques and data simulation
- Data visualizations and reporting techniques
Qualitative Research Methods
- Discussion and implementation of qualitative methodological steps for phenomenological, ethnographic, grounded theory, historical, case study, narrative inquiry, and action research
- Use of qualitative analysis software including NVivo, Dedoose, and MAXQDA
- Development of interview guide
- Discussion of participation recruitment (e.g., network sampling and purposeful sampling)
- Assistance with coding and thematic analysis

Please note that the research consultations are limited to only faculty led research and research conducted by doctoral students. CTRL does not provide support for student capstone projects, class support, tutoring, in-class demonstrations or guest lectures. We kindly ask that consultations are limited to one, one-hour meeting per week to ensure that we can meet the need of as many faculty as possible.
