Session Description:

This workshop aims to highlight the consulting services available to faculty, which can assist in syllabus preparation to better align course content with students’ aspirations for career readiness. Career readiness involves equipping students with essential skills such as critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and professionalism that employers highly value. A key focus of the workshop will be the importance of translating academic experiences into workplace skills. By helping students recognize and articulate how their academic achievements and classroom experiences apply to real-world professional settings, faculty can play a pivotal role in their students’ career success. Additionally, the workshop will cover a variety of Career Center resources that can be seamlessly integrated into the classroom, such as resume, cover letter, and interview toolkits, industry-specific materials, and career exploration tools.

Learning Outcomes:

• Assist in syllabus preparation and aligning course content with career readiness goals
• Help students recognize and articulate how their academic achievements and classroom experiences translate into essential workplace skills, enhancing their career readiness and success.
• Effectively incorporate Career Center resources, such as resume and cover letter templates, industry-specific materials, and career exploration tools, into your course curriculum to help prepare students for their future careers.
