Session Description:

Whether accidentally or intentionally, students use generative AI tools. While some may be seeking shortcuts, many are looking for ways to use AI responsibly. In this workshop, facilitators will share insights on assignment design and current trends in student AI use. Through focused discussion, participants will explore what it means to become an “AI-aware” instructor and define what responsible AI use looks like in their own courses.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Identify common trends in student use of AI.
  2. Develop teaching and assessment strategies that address AI-related risks.
  3. Determine guidance and guardrails to help students navigate an increasingly AI-enabled learning environment.
  4. Apply these insights and feedback to potential revisions of assignments or course activities.
