203: Classroom Engagement in the First-Year Complex Problems Seminars

Session Description:

In this session, we share our findings from an AY 2025–26 assessment project that investigated student enrollment trends and classroom engagement in Complex Problems seminars. This project was designed in collaboration with student and faculty partners, and we additionally share a framework for using such partnerships to increase response rates and data quality.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Understand new insights from Complex Problems seminars and connect these ideas to student enrollment and engagement across undergraduate courses.
  2. Understand the framework and rationale for incorporating student and faculty partners in program assessment design.
