Session Description:
Within this session, we will share a brief history of grading and its repercussions before exploring faculty approaches to the “Humanizing A,” ungrading, and labor-based grading. Presenters will define these approaches, share examples from their syllabi and assignments, and offer practical advice on how they organize their time to effectively implement these feedback and grading practices.
The session will also include time for questions and discussion about how these approaches to feedback and grading influence course design, faculty time management, and broader teaching philosophies.
Learning Outcomes:
- Deepen knowledge and understanding of approaches to feedback and grading that foster learning, self-direction, and growth.
- Consider piloting or incorporating approaches to feedback and grading that foster learning, self-direction, and growth.
